The authorities of the ports of Alexandria and Dekheila, in northern Egypt, decided to stop navigation traffic at the two ports and prevent the entry and exit of ships to and from the docks, due to bad weather.
A statement issued by the Alexandria Port Authority on Monday said that due to bad weather conditions and weather fluctuations from the increase in the rate of visibility and its impact on the fields of vision, a rise in waves and wind speed, and out of concern for individuals and property, the Alexandria and Dekheila Ports General Authority's gas has been closed.
The statement added that the closure is scheduled to continue until weather conditions improve.
The chairman of the board of Directors of the Alexandria Port Authority, Nihad Shahin, stressed on all departments concerned to raise the degree of readiness and continue to follow up weather observations periodically in terms of wind speed, wave height, atmospheric pressure and take all precautionary measures to preserve individuals and property.
